Snow? Where?!

When I lived in Philly, not even 3 feet of snow prevented anyone from getting anywhere. Apart from the time I couldn't get up the slope of our street as there had been a burst water pipe which turned the slope of our street into a death trap. I literally couldn't walk up the street and had to jump from porch to porch (with a case of beer in hand!) to get to my crib.

Here's my old place from the Philly days on google maps....

It was a big ol' haunted house which scared the shit out of me when I was home alone. It had a scary basement that was something out of a horror movie and wooden floorboards that creaked. But it was great!

Anyway, I digress. My point is how do a couple of inches of snow bring the entire UK to a grinding halt?! I'm meant to be driving up the country to my folks house in Newcastle on Thursday and by the looks of things even just a light dusting of icing sugar on the road will prevent me from getting up north and I won't be having a jog on the beach on Christmas day morning.

What is stange about this so called snow is that the entire UK is covered in it apart from Corby and Kettering. We ain't got a single flake which makes the whole thing slightly surreal.
